CHIRP files for VK repeaters

While chatting with Wal and Frank at the club meeting last night re: programming a 'universal' set of repeater channels into a Baofeng HT, doubts were raised about the viability due to CTCSS conflicts etc. So I thought I'd see just how many channels would be needed to cover all the VK 2m and 70cm re...

Re: Repeaterbook.com

I think the listing is just for a standard analogue repeater. I don't know who registered it with the site, but I submitted an update a week or two ago to correct the offset - it was incorrectly listed as -5MHz initially. If you click 'edit repeater' at the top of the page you can fill in the detail...

FM92 2M radio for parts/repair

I found my FM900 radio in a box the other day. Worked fine when I last used it 10+ years ago, but now doesn't appear to power up.
It's an FM92 25w VHF Hi band, fitted with a 2m eprom, remote head and DTMF mic.
Suitable for parts, repair, or to stop your boat from drifting away.
Free to a good home.

Re: APRS

Yesterday I made some heatmaps of 130-150MHz taken over 60 minutes to try and visualise the LNA's performance. Without LNA: http://vk2hff.ampr.org/images/sdr.png With LNA: http://vk2hff.ampr.org/images/sdr_lna.png A close up of the APRS frequency, 145.175MHz. Without LNA - not much here http://vk2hf...

Re: APRS

I found the receiver sensitivity of the scanner was quite poor compared to the Yaesu. No surprises there, really. My IGate will only receive signals within about a 5km radius. I had the same problem with my igate and satgate when I first switched to using USB RTL SDRs for the receivers, they were d...

Re: Programming software needed

Have you tried CHIRP? It supports the FT-7900R.

Thanks Peter.
I might try and make it to next month's meeting, I'm stuck at home with a broken collarbone at the moment :|

Hello from an ex-member

Hi all, Josh VK2HFF here, I was a member of FGARC about 15 years ago but then life got in the way. I stumbled across your new website by accident the other day, and I read that the club is about to install a repeater almost across the road from my QTH :D Great to see that the club is still going, an...
